A child's amazing memory skills start from day one:
A child must learn everything from scratch. From day one they must learn about their language, society, the culture that they live in, as well as how to adapt to their new environment. The very basic nature of a child is to learn everything that they can about their world, and memory plays an important role in this.
Memory engages the heart and mind of a child.

Our very unique memory system is not rote memorisation. The system is designed to delight a child's mind and heart in a way that makes the learning material both fun and memorable. While the learning material is practical and helps them learn more easily once they enter school, they will also be able to absorb any new learning at a deeper level.

Memory is about engaging all the senses.

Creating a strong foundation in numeracy, literacy, creativity, and critical thinking is a multilayered process. The glue that holds everything together is memory. Our curriculum succeeds in creating an environment that is free of stress and full of encouragement. In addition we make sure to engage all of your child's senses. This helps every child understand the material in a way that they can put it into use more readily, and opens up the capacity to remember everything that they have learned more easily.

You are already aware of their amazing memory.

Your children will remember many of the things that you have said, and they will often remind you when you forget(especially if it has to do with lollies or toys). This amazing ability begins when they're born and helps them survive and thrive in the world. It's up to you to take advantage of this very short period (The Sensitive Period) between the ages of 0 - 3 years old. Creating a strong memory foundation early on will affect the rest of their lives positively. Find out how you can get started at our workshop.

Will my child be prepared?

At this stage, do you feel your child will be able to cope in a more challenging classroom or will they be lost?
Sunday Morning Herald Article: Primary School Maths: Eight Students in Every Class Have No Idea What is Going On

What steps can I take to prepare my child?

Obviously, every child can work on challenges that they have, as well as further develop their strengths. Many parents can be overwhelmed with all the information that they find on the internet. What if you had an easy way to engage your child with learning, but they felt like they were playing?

To a child, learning is play!

At Shichida, we have created a comprehensive, whole-brain training that parallels and child’s mental and physical development. Children feel like they are playing and they are inspired to learn more and more, allowing parents to spend quality time with them in a hands-on lesson.

One hour a week!

In an hour you might have lunch. Many children spend a few hours a week training in sport or dance. Some spend more time watching TV or playing video games. Imagine if all a child needed was an hour a week to create a strong educational foundation in a fun and engaging environment that will last for the rest of their lives? Quality is more important than quantity.

During the youngest years, the brain is at its most plastic and malleable.
This means it can easily adapt, adjust, and be impacted. It is the first 5 years, known as the 'Sensitive Period', when up to 90% of the brain is formed!

These years provide an exclusive window of opportunity to build a strong foundation. Our innate abilities decrease as we age or fail to stimulate them. This is called the 'Law of Diminishing Ability', and this is why taking advantage of early learning and experiences is crucial.

Understanding how to help your child requires some knowledge of the brain.

The brain is forever growing, adapting and changing based on its environment and inputs. Its architecture is built from the bottom up, meaning it forms a base in the early years.
New information is 'scaffolded' on the existing foundation, so our previous knowledge greatly determines how well we integrate new information.

To put it in the words of the experts, "What happens during the first months and years of life matters a lot not because this period of development provides an indelible blueprint for adult wellbeing but because it sets either a sturdy or fragile stage for what follows."
 – Shonkoff & Philipps, 2000.

The brain is made of many different parts.

Each part of the brain performs its own function, but to work at capacity, all parts must be balanced and work in harmony.

Stimulating the whole brain will 'optimise' it to receive, store and apply information in the best way possible.

It’s so important to provide a way to learn & grow to our children.
But how do we best stimulate the brain? We must...

Provide Quality and Quantity

Children need a variety of quality experiences to help shape their view in the world. These include real-life activities

Use Lots of Imagery
Until age 3, children rely predominantly on images, rather than language, to learn. This is because they use the right-brain to process information. As we age, we become more left-brain dominant (think language and logic). The right brain’s powers are very impressive, but must be developed in early childhood to reap the full benefits.

Understand their Age Limitations
